Cento Amici (100 Friends) is a community-based, member organization dedicated to providing need-based scholarship assistance to qualified students in New Jersey. Our mission is to enhance the educational opportunities for those who need it most and who are most under-served by existing need-based programs.
As a recognized 501(c)(3) (non-profit) organization, Cento Amici currently supports scholarships at the following institutions:
o The University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ)
o Montclair State University
o Union County College
o St. Peter's Prep
Please click here to visit our Scholarships area for more information.
Founded in 1989, Cento Amici (originally known as Trenta Amici) first supported a range of charitable organizations. As our membership has grown over the years, we have narrowed our focus to the support of education, where our members believe we can have a significant impact.
In addition to supporting our scholarships, Cento Amici has also made special contributions to a scholarship fund established for the children of police officers and firefighters killed on 9/11, and to the Delbarton School for the establishment of an inner-city scholarship fund.
Cento Amici stages two fund-raising events each year - a golf outing in the spring, and annual dinner in the fall. Please see the
Golf Classic and
Events areas of
our web site for additional details.

Cento Amici Member Quotes:
"I was a recipient of a scholarship that allowed me to attend the local all boy’s Catholic college prep high school in Detroit rather than the public school in the neighborhood. One of 12 children, my parents never would have been able to afford to send me. The advanced curriculum, discipline, and values education set the tone for my life."
Tim Andree, Chief Executive Officer - Dentsu America

"There’s nothing more important than the next generation. And to me, that’s where Cento Amici makes a difference year after year through support of scholarships to qualified New Jersey students at educational institutions around the State. Cento Amici membership also provides an opportunity for men and women working in a wide range of professions in the region to meet in a social setting, exchange perspectives on important topics of the day and make new friends."

"I really can't describe how wonderful it has been to meet some of the students our scholarships have helped. They are smart...curious... witty...so appreciative...just outstanding individuals. They are tomorrow's leaders. If we've helped give them a head start, then I'm thrilled."

"After spending more than 30 years in business, the last eight on my own, I felt it was time to give something back to others. That's why I have become involved in this organization. Through Cento Amici, I am personally involved in raising money for students who we know need our support. At last year's dinner, I was able to meet and hear directly from a young man who benefited from one of our scholarships. It was very rewarding. In addition to helping these students, an added bonus has been that I have made some great friends for life!"
